A Life-Changing Journey

I’m Bryley, a Melbourne mum of three and the founder of Azure Belle.

After nearly two decades in the corporate world, my life changed in an instant during my third pregnancy. At just 20 weeks, my unborn son was diagnosed with a life-threatening condition (hydrops fetalis), and I underwent emergency in-utero surgery. He was born prematurely and critically unwell, spending 7 weeks on life support, I waited three long weeks to hold him for the first time. We welcomed him home after 148 days in hospital in the NICU.

Through that experience, I learned the importance of self-belief, health, and being present with my kids. But even in motherhood, I realised I still had hang-ups, especially around my period. I dreaded swimming with my two daughters and son when I had my period, because the only options were uncomfortable, single-use or bulky products that didn’t feel good to wear.

But swimming is part of the Australian way of life. I didn’t want myself or my daughters sitting out anymore. So, in 2021, I created Azure Belle: stylish, sustainable period swimwear that empowers women and teens to feel confident, comfortable, and carefree, no matter the day of the month.
