Preparing For Holidays On Your Period

Planning a holiday, trip away or even making social plans is so much fun, you get so excited only to realise that your period is due during your long awaited holiday. There’s no need to worry! Instead of letting your period  throw a spanner in the works and ruin your fun, take some precautions to prepare and don’t let your time of the month ruin your fun!

Here are some of our best tips for preparing for holidays if you’ll be on your period.

Comfort is key

Holidays are the best time to relax! Even if your trip consists more of adventuring and sightseeing than poolside lounging, prioritising comfort is key. Pack your Azure Belle leakproof period swimwear, comfiest pyjamas and loungewear, your favourite heat pack, and anything else that helps you feel more comfortable when away from your own bed.

Stay hydrated

No matter whether you’re holidaying or at home, staying hydrated is important during any time of the month. Especially when you’re on your period, you want to make sure you’re drinking enough water to stay hydrated. Dehydration can make period symptoms like cramps, headaches and dizziness feel even worse.

If sightseeing or days in the sun are on the cards, pack your water bottle for your trip so you can refill it on the go. Aiming to drink 1.5L of water throughout the day will help you feel better during your period and enjoy more of your holiday.

Your favourite snacks

One of the best parts of holidays is the yummy food! If you’re off to somewhere exotic or tropical, research beforehand on the type of local cuisine. Sometimes there’s nothing worse than being away from home and craving your favourite comfort foods and not being able to get them. If you know certain foods or snacks you usually crave during your period, stock on them for your trip. Keep the hangry vibes away all day!

Know your symptoms

Speaking of being prepared, one of the best ways to prepare for your trip is to know your symptoms. If you know you usually get cramps during your period, or feel better after a walk, think about how you can fit light exercise into your holiday schedule or pack your painkillers that work for you.

Swimming

Swimming on your period can be daunting, especially if you’re not a fan of tampons or menstrual cups which are more invasive options or have a bit of a learning curve. That’s why we founded Azure Belle Swimwear period swimsuits for ladies and teens. You'll find a great range of thoughtfully designed period swimwear so you can swim, and do all the activities you would normally do on your holiday, worry-free. Take it easy

A relaxing holiday is probably the best place to be when you’re on your period! If your holiday consists of jam-packed adventure days or sightseeing, remember to take it easy.
